This transnational autumn school with participants from the TUM School of Life Sciences and the Open International University of Human Development in Kiev, will develop approaches for sustainable food production.
The goal is an exchange of topics of high social relevance such as sustainable land use, climate change, biodiversity and food safety. Different approaches, challenges and opportunities of sustainable food production will be elaborated and discussed, with a focus on agroecology and urban agriculture with current topics such as agrobiodiversity, polycultures, agroforestry, ecosystem functions and services, sustainable urban agriculture and urban food production.
The virtual, English-language format will enable the young scientists in Kiev to continue their studies and network internationally with German and international students, even in the current political situation. In addition to providing substantive, technical training, the Autumn School also aims to promote long-term collaboration and exchange.
The Autumn School is organized by the Hans Eisenmann Forum for Agricultural Sciences (HEF) of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Professorship for Urban Productive Ecosystems (UPE) at the TUM.
This event is supported by Kölner Gymnasial- und Stiftungsfonds and the Joachim Herz-Stiftung Hamburg, and organized by the Hans Eisenmann Forum for Agricultural Sciences (HEF) of TUM and the Professorship for Urban Productive Ecosystems (UPE) at TUM.
