Benjamin Leroy studied agriculture and food technology at the Institut Supérieur d'Agriculture Rhône-Alpes (ISARA) in Lyon, France, where he enrolled in a double-degree program in partnership with Wageningen University Research (WUR; the Netherlands). He earned his master’s degrees in Agroecology (WUR) and Agricultural engineering (ISARA) in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Between 2016 and 2022, he carried out research at the TUM on the impacts of insect outbreaks and their treatment with insecticides on forest resources and ecosystems, first as a PhD student and later as a postdoctoral researcher.
