03.-06.September 2019: International Symposium in Ruminant Physiology (ISRP 2019)
ISRP is the major international conference on rumninant physiology. It provides an overview of current, important scientific findings and areas of research in the physiology of ruminants of all kinds. The ISRP will take place from 3-6- September 2019 and is organised by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Leipzig and the Leipziger Messe.
25. Juni - 2. Juli 2019: TUM Summer School "Selection and Breeding"
The TUM Chair of Plant Breeding will organize a Summer School on „Selection and Breeding” from June 25 to July 2, 2019 with Bruce Walsh of the University of Arizona and Guilherme Rosa of the University of Wisconsin-Madison for researchers in the field of quantitative genetics, breeding and biostatistics from academia and industry. The Summer School will provide an introduction to classical and genome-based selection theory and breeding methodology. A guest lecturer from Computomics will give an introduction to machine learning. The course consists of lectures and practical components with hands-on exercises. Registration will start in March.

Prof. Dr. Hongyun Han from the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development at Zhejiang University China talks about the following topic

The event will take place on Wednesday, 20 March 2019 at 18:00 hrs in the seminar room 83/84 of the Hans Eisenmann Forum (Liesel-Beckmann-Str. 2, Freising).
Februar 25th, 2019: BayKlimaFit - Final presentation and symposium
On Monday, 25 February 2019, the Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber MdL, invites to the final presentation and symposium of the project network "BayKlimaFit - Strategies for the Adaptation of Cultivated Plants to Climate Change" in the Max-Joseph-Saal of Reisdenz Munich.
After a welcoming address by the Dean of the Weihenstephan Science Centre of the TUM, Prof. Dr. Thomas Becker, the Minister will open the event. Prof. Dr. Menzel, Professor of Ecoclimatology at the Technical University of Munich, will then give a keynote speech on the current and exciting topic "2018 - A year in climate change" before the morning of the final event will end with a discussion on the project network.
The main focus of the symposium in the afternoon will be the presentation of the research results from the BayKlimaFit project network, which have dealt with various stress factors such as cold, heat and dry stress, waterlogging and harmful rains.
