Biography
Dr. Khaoula El Hassouni completed her engineering degree in agriculture before pursuing a Ph.D. in plant breeding through a collaboration between the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) and the University of Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco, funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC). Afterward, she worked at the State Plant Breeding Institute at the University of Hohenheim, where she coordinated and managed the Betterwheat project. Her research focused on understanding the genomic and proteomic architecture as well as the environmental variability of agronomic, quality, and nutritional traits in wheat.
Khaoula currently works at the TUM Central Institute Hans Eisenmann Forum for Agricultural Sciences (HEF) as a project coordinator and data scientist in the National Research Data Infrastructure consortium for Agrosystem sciences FAIRagro. In this role, she coordinates multiple agrosystem research use cases that provide data resources and requirements for the development of data management services for the agrosystem community. She is also responsible for improving ETL workflows that enable the seamless integration of heterogeneous source data into crop model datasets.
