HEFagrar PhD Symposium
The HEFagrar PhD Symposium welcomes all doctoral researchers and early postdocs in agricultural sciences to present their projects. Related projects in forestry and nutrition are very welcome to participate. Also, we welcome projects from TUM locations Garching and Munich with agriculture related topics.
The HEFagrar PhD Symposium offers a platform for scientific and personal exchange with colleagues:
- Get to know each other: Who is working on which project?
- Chance to obtain feedback and learn from each other’s experiences
- Occasion to discuss the results of ongoing PhD studies to support future work
- Opportunity to gain experience in giving presentations

8th HEFagrar PhD Symposium on April 26, 2022
The 8th HEFagrar PhD Symposium took place on April 26, 2022.
Finally, we could meet in person again after two years of COVID. In 9 talks and 15 poster presentations we learned about a great variety of topics and projects. In the afternoon, TUM ForTe informed on "Resarch funding support for national and international funding opportunities"
The HEFagrar PhD Symposium is a platform for young scientists to get into contact with colleagues, for sharing experiences and for networking. It is a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of the establishment of sustainable land use systems, from basic research to applied questions.
We thank all participants for their contributions and congratulate this year's award winners for
"Best Elevator Pitch": Christine Anglhuber "What are you made of? Genomic breed contribution in Fleckvieh and Brown Swiss cattle"
"Best poster": Milena Brunner "Analyzing the B-cell receptor repertoire of chickens"
"Best talk": Franziska Steiner "Drought response of soil aggregation and soil organic dynamics in the rhizosphere of different maize cultivars"
We are already looking forward to next year !!
7th HEFagrar PhD Symposium on April 27, 2021
On April 27 we hosted an interesting event with 7 talks and 15 poster presentations from different areas in the agricultural sciences. Also included were inputs from the Global Food Venture Programm (GFVP), the TUM Food/Agro/Biotech Venture Lab (FACIT) and the start-up PALTECH.
Due to Covid we had to online once again, with much more digital experience than last year. Nevertheless, we hope to meet in person again on the next HEFagrar PhD Symposium.

6th HEFagrar PhD Symposium on April 28, 2020
Due to Covid 19 the HEFagrar PhD Symposium took place online on Tuesday, April 28th.
With 6 talks, 9 poster presentations by PhD students, inputs from MCTS and TUMForTe and pitches by 3 start ups we had a diversified program with many exciting contributions. It was a very successful event that worked well as an online format despite some minor technical problems. The only thing missing were the breaktime conversations over coffee and cookies with a direct personal exchange.
More details you find in the program for this event here
Many thanks to all participants, speakers, presenters, moderators and co-discussers !
Congratulations to our award winners:
Best Poster Pitch
Thomas Mösl: "Analysis of organic matter balances and yield perfomance of organic and conventional cultivation systems"
Best Poster
